Construction and what it delivers
The film range is built on metallized polypropylene and paper-film composite dielectrics in flat, cylindrical, rectangular, epoxy-encapsulated and hermetically sealed metal-case constructions. Each construction trades volume against pulse capability and thermal path, which is why the same dielectric appears in several series.
Two capabilities worth noting
- High ripple and pulse current: the C451 – C458 family is designed for ultra-high dV/dt duty in SMPS filtering, high-frequency and high-power pulse supplies and energy storage, replacing CDE 941C / 942C / 943C / 930 / 932 / 935 / 950 / 936C and DPP / DPPM / DPM series.
- High ambient temperature: C992 is rated to 200 °C and keeps its parameters there, which is what makes it usable in the power supply and filtering stages of downhole measurement instruments.

Start from the duty, not the part number: pulse or ripple current, dV/dt, ambient temperature and required life. Send the electrical parameters and the envelope you have available; we will come back with the series and case that fits, plus the rating table for the selected model.
Frequently asked questions
Can you replace CDE 941C / 942C / 943C capacitors?
Yes. The C451 – C458 family is built for the same ultra-high dV/dt duty and covers the equivalent voltage and capacitance ranges; send the CDE part number and we confirm the matching model.
What is the highest ambient temperature in the film range?
C992 is rated −55 °C to +200 °C. Other series are rated to +85 °C or +105 °C depending on construction.
Do you supply film capacitors as custom designs?
Yes — capacitance, voltage, case form and termination can all be adapted. Custom designs and small batches are supported.
What is the lead time for CV series mica capacitors?
Standard items are produced in 4–8 weeks from order confirmation. Custom designs are scheduled individually.
